Why isn’t an order that starts during offshift time counted as the start of the order?
When offshift time is scheduled, the system can be configured with specific limits on both downtime events and product counts. If an order begins during offshift and stays below these limits, the system automatically deletes that order entry so it does not affect the order start or the OEE calculation.
These limit values are configured by MaintMaster OEE directly in the database and cannot be changed by the user. If you need assistance adjusting these settings, please contact support@oeesystems.com.
When is this used?
-
Early or unexpected completion: If a production line finishes an order sooner than planned, the next order might begin during offshift time.
-
Early order start: If an order is started before its scheduled time on the calendar, it also begins in offshift.
Because the system records this unexpected production (or downtime) as if it happened during active production, the OEE value may be displayed incorrectly, including the entire offshift period in the calculation.
Example of limits
A typical configuration might allow for:
-
Production units: 100 or fewer
-
Downtime events: 5 or fewer
If either of these thresholds is exceeded, the system will not automatically delete the order.
Example 1
-
Scheduled offshift
-
Production units: 100
-
Downtime events: 3
Because both values are within the set limits, the system automatically deletes this order.
Example 2
-
Scheduled offshift
-
Production units: 120
-
Downtime events: 3
Because the number of production units exceeds the limit, the system does not delete this order.
